Reiki is a holistic healing practice that can be hands-on or hands-off. It exists on its own, detached from any religion or spiritual belief system. The basis of Reiki is the idea that humans are comprised of diverse, interacting energy fields. These fields respond to our health status, thoughts, lifestyle, choices, and environment. These energy fields ebb and flow with our changing environment, yet Reiki helps them stay balanced.

Reiki does this by supporting and harmonizing the flow of energy through chakras. The practice smooths the extremes and promotes relaxation and higher consciousness. Some Reiki practitioners will use the power of crystals as well. The crystal’s energy vibration flows into the subconscious emotional body, getting to the root cause of the imbalance and keeping you grounded.

Reiki is not a one-time healing experience. Emotional healing takes time. Be sure to seek out a Reiki practitioner that offers a whole support system for healing to take place and well-being to be restored.

What are chakras?

Chakras are energy points on your body. They are also called the wheel of life and are key to the functioning of every aspect: physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. Because chakras are energy and energy constantly moves, maintaining a balanced system is a daily choice, as opposed to a net or end result or even an ideal state.

Two of the most important chakras are the sacral chakra and the root chakra.
