There has been a recent surge in interest to explore how psychedelic therapies can be beneficial for mental health disorders.

It is an unfortunate reality that mental illnesses are a significant issue in society today, and this problem is increasing day by day.

The treatments currently used are very outdated, being new versions of the same treatments that have been used for a long time. Antidepressants, antipsychotics, neuroleptics, benzodiazepines, etc.

But even though they stabilize psychotic episodes or mania in bipolar patients, they result in many other side effects such as apathy, sexual dysfunction, gastrointestinal disturbances, AND they often lose effectiveness overtime.

All pharmacological treatment must be accompanied by psychological therapy since the origin of most mental disorders lies in the subconscious. What is the problem? The majority of patients fail to connect with the root of their psychological problem, since even though it is difficult in itself, once medicated, they lose that ability to reach the depths of their soul, where those thoughts and wounds hide that have led them to suffer from that illness.
