Why do I feel sluggish, exhausted, have brain fog, cravings & irritability after antibiotics?

Antibiotics have the potential to change the Microbiome for up to a year & studies indicate that even low dose antibiotics can alter gene expression, especially early in life. This means giving antibiotics while a child’s immune system is developing has the potential to change genetic expression, leading to skewed immunity. These epigenetic changes can also be passed on to offspring, or at least in mice models. No wonder each generation keeps getting sicker. Grandparents smoked= gene changes passed down. Parents ate the SAD=gene changes passed down etc.
🔹
Honestly IMO antibiotics should be the last thing given in medicine unless absolutely pressing & necessary. Lyme doesn’t require antibiotics to heal. Neither does SIBO. Herbs can do much of the heavy lifting along with returning the body to homeostasis by opening drainage pathways that are sluggish if you’re sick. (In fact that’s a big reason why you are sick-your #iver is stagnant or you can’t poop 💩) Moreover, antibiotics can lead to further mitochondrial damage, which is usually already hindered in much of the chronic illness population. Mitochondria provide energy for every cell In your body. If starting out with poor mitochondrial function, the cells won’t detox properly & hence, neither will the organs. Antibiotics should not be given to this patient population. {research getting FLOXED}.
🔹
Unnecessary antibiotics can cause long term effects on health & should not be considered benign, especially given our accelerated knowledge of the importance of the diversity of the gut. The elderly & children should especially be protected.
🔹
Much like the earth’s soil, our microbiome loses efficacy & immune strength with deforestation of the microbial species. Less diversity=less immunity, just like less diverse microbes in the soil=stripped food w/ less phytonutrients.
