What causes inflammation that chronically, leads to metabolic syndrome, the comorbidity that puts C patients at most risk? Well, lots of things, namely:
3️⃣Heavy metals & other toxicities
4️⃣Food-which is either fighting disease or causing it.
5️⃣there are pro inflammatory genes which can be turned on, kinda like pro-oncogenes, or genes that cause cancer. They are flipped on by stealth infections, metals, dioxins, pesticides, trauma/abuse, etc.
Let’s discuss 🥘 🍕 food… I was shocked when I went to buy these food-like products from CVS & told the cashier that it was for a photo shoot on inflammation—She said, this food causes inflammation? (I also had a box of Frosted Flakes) It proved to me how much of the world is still not connecting chemicals, plasticizers, herbicide, dyes, & preservatives to obesity, inflammation & chronic disease. Another biggie is gluten, containing alpha gliadin, which is modified from its original protein structure to be much larger than nature intended. It’s also sprayed with herbicides, which interrupt the shikimate pathway in plants 🌱-this is how they make amino acids. Translation: we are eating nutrient stripped food. My Celiac patients can often go to Europe & eat gluten without reacting since it’s processed differently there.
WHAT IS METABOLIC SYNDROME?
Metabolic syndrome is a clustering of at least 3 of the 5 following medical conditions: abdominal obesity, high blood pressure, high blood sugar, high triglycerides, & low HDL. Metabolic syndrome is associated with the risk of developing cardiovascular disease & type 2 diabetes.
After years of eating the standard American diet, heavy on bread, dairy & sugar (if most of your diet consists of Frappuccinos & sandwiches, you might be included 😂), people develop high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, obesity, arthritis & even halitosis. All of these diagnoses have underlying inflammation as the issue-from food choices or one of the other listed reasons. Then medicine tells them they don’t know why, it must be in your genes, but here’s some Lipitor, Metformin, or HCTZ.
