Befriending the Body is a 45 minutes meditation journey through the body and organ systems. The purpose is to do explore the inner self in a relaxed and loving way, beginning to open to learning how your body speaks to you, coming into a deeper relationship with all of the aspects of self, and using the power of attention and intention to support healing of the physical body through the power of the mind and energy systems.
Through this exploration you will:
- Soften into a relaxed, parasympathetic state, enhancing vagal tone and encouraging deep rest and healing.
- Learn to sense and “see” your different organ systems and physiologic processes. We are better able to learn when we are in a relaxed state, so in addition to providing a healing experience as meditation does, you will also upgrade your intellectual and intuitive understanding of your body.
- Approach your body from a place of self-love, appreciation, compassion, and objectivity which allows for a deeper relationship to and ability to listen without fear or judgment to the information you receive: symptoms, challenges, insights, etc.
Practices such as these are valuable tools as you become your own best doctor, and can set the foundation for harnessing the power of the mind to optimize and heal.
